The annual Cranbrook Elementary Children's Christmas Choir welcomed the holiday season with a special performance at Cranbrook Alliance Church on Dec. 5.
Singers performed well-loved Christmas classics like Deck the Halls, Silent Night and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and seasonal carols like Silver Bells and Winter Fantasy.
Students from nine different elementary schools participated, including Gordon Terrace, Highlands, Kootenay Orchards, Pinewood, Steeples, St. Mary's, T.M Roberts, Laurie and Kootenay Christian Academy. Hundreds of students from across the city take part each year.
The concert raised $1,256.10 for the Salvation Army.
Conductors Lyndsey Bain, Morgan Pelletier, Patti Radies, Carly Benson, Brianna Giesbrecht, Kim Lutz, Arissa Toffolo and Vanessa Fer guided the students through the lineup of songs, and Kaley Wasylowich provided musical accompaniment.
MC Viveka Johnson presented Radies with a bouquet of flowers for her long-term involvement with the event spanning 33 years.
