There will be closures along 14 Ave. as the City of Cranbrook prepares to transform the intersection near Kinsman Arena from a traffic light to a four-way stop.
Work on the intersection will begin Oct. 1 and continue for multiple days, starting with the removal of existing road lines along 14 Ave. from Baker St. and 4 St. North intersections, and lines on 2 St. North stretching from intersections at Kootenay St. to 16 Ave. North
The City will start to mark out new alignments on Oct. 2 in preparation for the repainting of the lines. The City said work will start after Mount Baker Secondary School classes begin, so as ensure limited interference with school bus schedules.
The public can expect closures and delays along 14 Ave. and 2 St. North. The City asks that motorists slow down and watch for crews working in the area, and obey signage placed in the area.
