A major campaign in support of the Cranbrook and Kimberley food banks was launched Monday, May 6, to mark Hunger Awareness Week. The local food banks are working together with Investors Group volunteers and local retailers, and kicked off the food drive at Save-On Foods, Safeway and Superstore in Cranbrook and Overwaitea Foods and the Mark Creek Market in Kimberley. Stop by and make a donation, and find out more about the local situation — for instance, 35 per cent of food bank users are children under the age of 18.
