Hugs and Slugs: For the sign of Taurus

Hugs: A big thank you to everyone who went out and at burgers at one of the 20 participating restaurants this March. This year, we sold an impressive total of 6,453 burgers, raising a remarkable $32,265 for the Canadian Mental Health Association of the Kootenays. Your commitment to this event has been outstanding, and I’m truly grateful for your participation. The funds raised will undoubtedly make a meaningful impact on the mental health initiatives in our region.

Hugs: To Bud at Genius computers for timely and helpful service and information. Much better and more personal.

Slugs: To the City of Cranbrook for not re-installing the Purple Air monitor so that we can see the air quality of the region. The monitor used to be in City Hall. Other regional communities have them. Why not Cranbrook?

Hugs: To Tom Shypitka’s office for the detailed, informative and non-partisan history behind the carbon tax, printed in the Townsman. Helps us make a better-thought-out decision.

Hugs: To Jessica at EKNPUD for organizing the event at Rotary Park to bring awareness to the toxic drug crisis. I think the work you’ve been doing in Cranbrook is a huge contributor to bringing awareness to this crisis. We’re still losing too many loved ones & there’s alot of work to be done to make a significant change. Affordable housing & recovery options for people trying to get clean are a must. Thankyou for your efforts..they are recognized!
