Nelson: Nelson Brewing Company Celebrates New Taproom
Nelson Brewing Company (NBC), one of the Kootenay’s original craft beer breweries is celebrating the opening of their newly renovated Taproom. The new Taproom allows NBC to serve full pints of beer to patrons, not just samplers.
Nelson Brewing Company offers tours of the facility, keg orders and tap list of seven beers plus six Taproom exclusive beers. “The Taproom is the heart of our brewery, where you can enjoy the full brewhouse experience,” NBC states on their website.
Nelson Brewing Company owned and operated by Matt and Kate Walker (CEO). The Taproom at Nelson Brewing Company is open 7 days a week starting at noon.

Fernie: Edo Japan Eyes Fernie Market
Edo Japan is looking to open a franchise restaurant in the newly built plaza which houses the new Wendy’s restaurant situated along busy Highway #3. The corporate office of Edo Japan is currently seeking to attract a franchisee for the operation.
According to the company’s website, “Edo Japan was born four decades ago in Calgary, serving teppan-style teriyaki meals with a signature sauce. Today we continue to enrich communities where we live. We’ve grown to over 130 locations across Canada serving fresh choices, fresh made and fresh to go.”
Fernie: Driving Good Deeds With the AmbassadorWILD’s New Electric Truck
Tourism Fernie recently introduced their newest asset, the AmbassadorWILD electric truck.
“Funded by the Province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, the AmbassadorWILD team will utilize this eco-friendly vehicle to champion sustainable tourism and recreation and support the community by ‘driving good deeds’ in Fernie and the surrounding area,” said Jikke Stegeman-Gyorki, executive officer of Fernie Tourism.
Jikke adds, “The best part? This truck is fully electric, meaning it will save more than 8,000 gallons of gas over its lifetime. Join us in driving positive change!”

Golden: Planning the perfect Golden day
Earlier this year Golden unveiled the new Tourism Golden Widget on their website with integrated mobile apps, an interactive way to map out everything you don’t want to miss in Golden. Designed with their partners at Visit Widget, this tool provides a new immersive way to explore the region through audio and video content, as well as detailed information on Golden’s accommodations, restaurants, activities, and much more.
