Crowsnest Pass: Concern Over Frank Slide Highway Twinning

With the Alberta Government talking about twinning Highway #3 through the Crowsnest Pass and the historic Frank Slide, some concerned citizens are expressing concern over the proposed project.

“There’s a proposed new road to be pushed through the slide, which is definitely concerning. The west end of the slide is deemed to be a graveyard and people definitely have concerns about it. Plus, it’s a national historic site and disturbing it doesn’t sit well with most people,” Blair Painter said in an interview with the Journal of Commerce.

Construction of the twinning of Highway 3 between Taber and Burdett is underway and the entire Alberta section of Highway #3 is scheduled to be twinned within 10 years.
