FOR THE TOWNSMAN

Two Cranbrook youths are headed to the Wake Surf World Championships this week.

Ryder Duczek and Montana Rouselle will be representing the East Kootenays and Canada on the world stage during the Competitive Wake Surfing Association World Championships from September 21 to 23.

The top wake surfers in the world will be competing at the event and both young surfers have been training for weeks. Also competing at the championships, in the Junior division, is Jaffray’s Cassidy Boehm.

The World Championships kick off on Thursday morning at Kelowna Park Beach and wrap up on Saturday night. Earlier this summer, both Duzcek and Rouselle won medals at the Canadian Nationals.
