Victor Bernard Peltzer “Vick”

July 8, 1924 – July 28, 2017

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Vick Peltzer announces his passing on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 93 years of age with his family at his bedside.

Vick was born in Poland and came to Creston, BC, Canada with his parents and his older sister Anna in 1928.

In 1947 Vick met the love of his life, Adeline, in Creston. They were soon married and moved to Kimberley. Vick started to work for Cominco in 1949, where he worked for 35 years before retiring in 1984.

Vick enjoyed gardening, wine making, fishing, carpet bowling, floor curling and dancing – which he did to appease Adeline. Skiing with his family and small grandchildren were much enjoyed by Vick and Adeline. Vick took much pleasure in camping where they started out in a tent and finished in a motorhome. Adeline did all the driving. In the motorhome they travelled around the Kootenays, across Canada and with the Good Sam’s Club.

Their grandchildren also liked camping in the motorhome where they took turns sleeping in the top bunk.

Vick is survived by his loving wife Adeline of 68 years, his daughter Judy (Calvin) Golbeck of Kimberley, son Garry Peltzer of Kimberley, his sister Margret Anderson of Creston, his grandchildren Clayton Golbeck (Roxy) of Cranbrook, Deedra (Kurt) Blair of Kimberley, Brandon Golbeck (Shelby) of Dawson Creek, Sharron Peltzer of Lethbridge and Shane Peltzer of Cranbrook, two great grandchildren, his sisterin-law Bernice Wagner of Richmond, sister-inlaw Lorraine (Wayne) Shirley of Rocky Mountain

House, and numerous nieces and nephews. Vick was predeceased by his parents Gottlieb and Augusta Peltzer and his sister Anna Screen.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Kimberley Special Care Home for all their excellent care for the past five and one half years and his general practitioner Dr. Van Zyl.

A visitation for Vick will be held at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kimberley (105 – Howard Street) on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am.

Those wishing to remember Vick may do so by making a donation to the Kimberley Special Care Home, 386 - 2nd Avenue, Kimberley, British Columbia, V1A 2Z8 or a charity of your choice.
