1950 - 2017

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Wayne Cockwell announces his passing on Friday, September 8, 2017 at his home in Cranbrook at 67 years of age. Wayne was born on February 13, 1950 in Blairmore, Alberta.

He farmed and worked as a machinist in Ontario prior to moving back to Cranbrook. Here he snowplowed and worked for Hay Shed Too Trailers - which for the last several years he owned and operated. Wayne was a double lung transplant survivor of 17 years. He put up a strong fi ght to cancer this past year. Wayne will be missed by many.

Wayne is survived by his wife Wanda, his mother Lorna Cockwell (Ernie Woolf ), son Lucas (Alena) Cockwell and fi rst grandson Avery Cockwell, his sister Linda (Gerry) MacIntyre, nieces Allyson (Jason) Tozer, Eryn (Cam) Geddes, nephew Jon MacIntyre, brother-inlaw Doug Kernohan, nephew Mike Kernohan, niece Jen Kernohan (Steve), Renee and Colleen Becking, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Paulette and Martin Davis and Christine and Barry Lawson, many great nieces and nephews that held a special place in his life: Cailee, Gavin, Alexa, Reid, Lydia, Hazel and Mabel and many great friends that were always there to lend a hand, which he greatly appreciated.

He was predeceased by his father Glen Cockwell and his sister Cheri Kernohan. We would like to thank Dr. Lenz, the doctors and the third floor oncology staff and the home care workers for all their help and care.

Cremation has taken place.
