Edward Oakley

Febuary 27, 1940 - July 15, 2017

It is with great sorrow that the family of Edward

Oakley announces his passing on Saturday, July 15,

2017 at the age of 77 after a long battle with lung

disease.

Ed retired from Crestbrook after 42 years as a

lumbergrader. Throughout his life he was an avid

hunter, fisherman, golfer and loved to get away

camping. In his later years Ed joined a Friday

afternoon bowling league and enjoyed Saturdays

among family and friends at the Royal Canadian

Legion.

Ed is survived by Carole, his loving wife of 58

years, his children: Donna (Tim) Kubasek, Todd

(Elaine), David, and Amy (Randy Cockwell).

Five grandchildren: Cody, Kara (Landon), Zach,

Meghan and Morgan. His sister, Evelyn Frost,

father-in-law: Harold Tengum, sisters-in-law:

Sandra (Ed) Todoruk, Cheryll (Brian) Montour

and brother-in-law Ray (Debra) Tengum as well

as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and

nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Ed was predeceased by his parents, three sisters,

two brothers and his mother-in-law.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at the Eagles

Hall, 711 Kootenay St., Cranbrook on Friday July

21, 2017 at 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the

BC Lung Association.
