Cranbrook RCMP had a relatively mild long weekend with 122 calls for service in both the South country and the City of Cranbrook.

Cranbrook took two impaired drivers off the road this weekend and are still conducting an investigation into impaired driving as a result of an accident. RCMP had several roadblocks set up in the South Country and stopped hundreds of vehicles. Of those vehicles stopped one was issued a 3 day Roadside Prohibition and one prohibited driver was taken off the road.

In the City of Cranbrook, RCMP took one more impaired driver off the road when the vehicle was stopped due to driving without headlights. The driver of that vehicle was issued with a 90 day roadside prohibition. A second call to an accident had RCMP led to an impaired driving investigation.

RCMP also attended a quad roll over at Umbrella Beach with two teenagers involved in the incident. Both were transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.

RCMP officers appeared to be busiest on the waterways. Members went to both Moyie and Tie Lakes with the RCMP boat. Moyie saw 14 boats stopped and tickets and warnings issued for Failure to Produce Pleasure Operator Cards, No Boat License, Boats not Marked and No Life Jackets on two of the boats stopped. On Tie Lake, five boats were stopped with tickets or warnings issued for these same offences.
