Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting says crews are out patrolling local roads following some freezing rain that have created extremely icy conditions.
Priority roads such as highways will be tackled first, before moving to secondary and residential roads afterwards.
The company advises drivers to be aware of the icy conditions, even if the road looks clear, and to lower speeds and allow for additional travelling time.
