On the second weekend in May, for the past 32 years, the field at Mount Baker Secondary School in Cranbrook is flooded with children.

The 2017 Kootenay Children’s Fair ran Saturday, May 13, drawing many hundreds. The festival is the longest-running free festival in B.C. and Alberta, and the largest event for children in southeast British Columbia.

With the help of local businesses and non-profits, and teams of volunteers, and under benevolent sunny spring skies, a good time was had by all.
