Kimberley: Ghostrider Motorsports Opens in Kimberley

Blair Cabelguen is the manager at the new Jack Carter offering in Kimberley. Jack Carter Auto Group, which owns the Northstar GM dealerships throughout the Kootenays, purchased Fernie’s Ghostrider Motorsports last year from Paul Kramer. The company has opened a sales, parts, accessories and service outlet in the vacated Chalet Chev building in Marysville.

The Kimberley dealership features Yamaha motorsports products. Check out their spacious showroom for a full lineup of motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and snowmobiles.

Nelson: Loki Lager Garners Gold

The folks at Nelson Brewing Company are celebrating these days. Their popular Loki Lager recently won a Gold Medal for Best International Lager at the Canada Beer Cup, the craft beer industry’s equivalent to the Stanley Cup.

Nelson Brewing Company said about their win, “We’re still riding the high from our recent win at the Canada Beer Cup! Our classic craft lager, Loki, earned a GOLD medal in its category and even placed in the “best in show” category, taking home the BRONZE in the Canada Beer Cup. Let’s all raise a glass of Loki to celebrate!”

Loki is described as a low-key, but unforgettable crisp and clean beer, reimagined to be as epic as its namesake, and tastes like beer should. Nelson Brewing Company is owned and operated by Kate and Matt Walker.

Kimberley: Kalu Yoga Opens in Marysville

Sasha Bahador, who recently moved to Kimberley, has opened the Kalu Yoga and Sacred Space in Marysville. The 1,000 square foot space is located at the back of the new Bellwether Curated Home store at 454 304th Street.

“We offer daily movement and yoga classes as well as monthly seminars on healthy living,” says Sasha Bahador, owner and business partner with Celeste Needham, owner of Bellwether. “We are really trying to offer a calm and welcoming space to feed the mind, body and spirit.” Their classes can host up to 24 or 25 participants.

Kalu Yoga space is available to local groups for rent for small gatherings, workshops and other events. Sasha adds about the welcoming space, “Kula means community or collective in Sanskrit.”

Kimberley: Bellwether Opens in Marysville

A new business in Marysville opened its doors in November. The Bellwether is owned and operated by Celeste Needham. The home décor and design store carries the slogan: “Curate where you dwell.” Her business partner Sasha Bahador runs and instructs at the Kula yoga studio, which is attached to the Bellwether.

Not new to business in Kimberley, Celeste Needham originally started Talaria Shoes in the Platzl before selling it to current owner Amanda Cameron.
